The second season closes the cat-and-mouse game between Alex Cross and Rebecca/Luz, a vigilante whose killings targeted people who harmed others. Alex struggles to reconcile her motives with her brutality, pleading with Luz to stop and trust him to deliver justice.

The season’s explosive finale leaves him uncertain about continuing his career. Alex uncovers that Luz’s aunt Clare conspired with Lance to have Luz’s mother killed, and that Clare later killed Donnie. Luz escalates her campaign, murdering Nat and almost burying Lance alive after slicing off his fingers; she mails a flash drive of evidence to Alex before fleeing.

When Alex reveals Clare’s betrayal and shoots her, Luz calmly jumps from a bridge and disappears, though a later tease leaves open the possibility she survived. Kayla’s betrayal cuts deep: jealous and eager to prove herself, she helps the FBI trace Alex so they can seize the drive and quietly force Crestbrook to clean up its act.
