Amazon Prime Video renewed Cross for Season 3 immediately after the Season 2 finale. The third season will follow the first two with eight episodes and stream exclusively on Prime Video where available. Creator Ben Watkins has long described the show as a four-season run and says he has a planned ending that pays homage to characters from the James Patterson novels.

Season 1 drew 40 million viewers globally in its first 20 days, ranked as the third most-watched premiere in 2025 and hit number one in more than 100 countries; Season 1 earned a 76% Rotten Tomatoes score and Season 2 climbed to 95%. Based on the previous schedule — Season 1 in November 2024 and Season 2 in February 2026 — Season 3 likely will not arrive until next year.

Season 3 will need to address Alex Cross's departure from the force and the existential crisis left at the end of Season 2, with a new serial killer case expected to push his physical and mental limits.
