Oliver Glasner criticised the Palace board after the January window when Marc Guehi, the club captain, was sold to Manchester City. "I feel we are being abandoned completely," he said, adding he "can't blame any player" and that "we have 12, 13 players from the squad available" and "we feel no support." He highlighted the timing — selling the captain one day before a Premier League game — and that the squad had only just completed its first full week of training since September.

He later said he had moved on, describing a "very long dinner with Steve" Parish in which they discussed "not to sell Marc" and the timing and possible replacement.
