Matheus Cunha came off the bench to curl a late winner as Manchester United beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal had taken the lead when Lisandro Martínez diverted the ball into his own net after 29 minutes, but United levelled through Bryan Mbeumo after a scuffed pass from Martín Zubimendi. Early in the second half Patrick Dorgu put United ahead with a swerving left-footed drive, and Bukayo Saka’s 84th-minute set-piece led to Mikel Merino touching home to make it 2-2. Cunha then shaped a long-range curler beyond David Raya to complete the comeback.

The result underlined United’s recent upturn under Michael Carrick — the side have charged into fourth place — while Arsenal, who had drawn their previous two league games 0-0 and are chasing a first Premier League title since 2004, finished with nothing despite multiple substitutions and late pressure.
