Curiosity Rover Creates Two‑Time‑of‑Day Postcard From Mars
NASA's Curiosity team produced a Mars "postcard" by commanding the rover to take panoramic images at two different times on Nov. 18, 2025, spanning Sols 4,722 and 4,723 of the mission.
The panoramas were captured at 4:15 p.m. on Sol 4,722 and 8:20 a.m. on Sol 4,723 (local Mars time) and were then merged into a single image.
Color was later added as an artistic interpretation, with blue representing the morning panorama and yellow the afternoon, to help different details stand out.
The merged postcard is similar to images Curiosity produced in June 2023 and November 2021. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech.
