Daniel Farke insists Leeds will avoid Premier League relegation
Daniel Farke has defended his side's Premier League credentials, saying he is calm despite recent narrow defeats to Manchester City and Sunderland. He described the Sunderland loss as "the first disappointing night at Elland Road in months", noting Leeds had 72 per cent possession, a clear penalty not given, their first goal disallowed by VAR and a penalty awarded to the opponent.
"If we played this game 20 times I guarantee we win it 16 times," he added, arguing there was no reason to panic. Survival remains the priority and Farke ruled out relying on other clubs. "I am not sitting on my sofa biting my nails for West Ham or Nottingham [Forest] or Tottenham to lose," he said, setting a target of seven to nine points and insisting the team still has chances in the remaining fixtures.
He added that failing to secure those points in the last six games would mean Leeds "don't deserve to play in the PL", but that what he has seen gives him confidence.
