Daniel Farke sent off after Man City defeat
Leeds manager Daniel Farke was shown a red card by referee Peter Bankes after his side's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. He confronted the officials at full-time and, visibly furious over several decisions during the match, had to be pulled away by goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
City's only goal came from January signing Antoine Semenyo, who darted into the six-yard box and converted a low Rayan Ait-Nouri cross. The Ghanaian’s strike proved decisive as Pep Guardiola’s side closed the gap to league leaders Arsenal to just two points without the services of Erling Haaland, who was injured and unable to travel; Omar Marmoush and Semenyo had been entrusted with leading the line.
Farke grew increasingly frustrated as time ran down, criticising what he saw as time-wasting and expecting more added minutes.
