Daniel Kaluuya eyes trippy A24 hotel horror from Together director
Daniel Kaluuya, who has made a habit of messing with audiences in Black Mirror and Get Out, is reportedly interested in a trippy new project from Together director Michael Shanks called Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel.
Shanks, who also wrote the film, has it in development at A24 as a sci-fi thriller about a man who wakes in a hotel room that’s far from an ordinary getaway. He soon realises he must break free from his confinement, but the only person who can help him is himself.
The premise recalls Stephen King’s 1408 and Buried, and could turn into a one-man showcase if Kaluuya signs on. With Shanks coming off a darkly comic body-horror, the combination raises curiosity about how far the director might push the actor.
Kaluuya’s other projects include Misty Green, a Chris Rock-directed drama starring Anna Kendrick and Adam Driver, a standalone Spider-Punk movie, and a long-gestating effort to bring Barney the purple dinosaur back in an adults-only iteration.
