Daniel Pemberton to Score Masters of the Universe Reboot
According to Movieweb, composer Daniel Pemberton will write the score for the live-action Masters of the Universe reboot; Pemberton announced the news on X, posting "I HAVE THE POWER!" and saying he would "be using some fabulous secret powers to conjure up the music."
Pemberton earned an Academy Award nomination for The Trial of the Chicago 7 and composed the music for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, with a return planned for the forthcoming third installment. His credits also include Enola Holmes, Eddington and episodes of Black Mirror, and Masters of the Universe is listed as another of his major 2026 works alongside music for Project Hail Mary.
The film is directed by Travis Knight and recently released its first trailer, which drew praise for vivid colors, a nostalgic feel and character interpretations; the cast includes Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Morena Baccarin, Alison Brie, Idris Elba and Jared Leto. The reboot, which has a long development history and at one point nearly landed at Netflix, is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2026, and early test screenings reportedly received glowing reviews.
