People reports that Home Alone star Daniel Stern was cited in California for an alleged single misdemeanor count of soliciting prostitution; he was reportedly cited at a motel in Camarillo, Ventura County, Ventura County District Attorney spokesperson Joey Buttitta says. "From what I understand, he was cited at the location and released," Buttitta says.

TMZ reported the citation occurred on Dec. 10. Buttitta said the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office submitted the ticket or citation to the district attorney’s office and that it is being reviewed by prosecutors. No charges have been brought in connection with the incident as of Monday, Jan. 12. Stern played "Wet Bandit" Marv in the 1990 film and now works as a sculptor and farmer, living on a ranch in California.

In an exclusive December interview with the outlet, Stern said he was commissioned by the family that purchased the Illinois house from the movie to make a replica of himself and the tarantula used in an iconic scene, and that the piece will be his first self-portrait. "I've been looking at myself in my studio and I've made myself a lot handsomer than I actually am in real life — just why not?" he joked. The outlet says Stern's representative was contacted for comment but did not immediately respond, and the citation remains under review by prosecutors.
