Daredevil: Born Again season 2 showrunner praises Matthew Lillard's villain

Dario Scardapane said his Dungeons and Dragons buddy Matthew Lillard was the only choice for the elusive Mr. Charles in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.

"Matt and I go way back. We worked together on a show called The Bridge. We worked together on a show I did, State Affairs," Scardapane said. "We're, we're really, really good friends."

He added that the character could have been played in a couple of ways: "it's a classic guy in black being that guy, or you do the Matt Lillard version of that. And, pretty much from as soon as that character was written, I knew that was the guy that should play it. It took a... It didn't take much with Marvel. And once he came in and did his thing, [he] proved to the world."
