Dark Matter Is Surging on Apple TV Ahead of Season 2
Apple TV’s original slate ranges from light-hearted hits like Ted Lasso to acclaimed science fiction such as Severance, Invasion and Pluribus. Pluribus overtook Severance to become the most-watched Apple TV sci-fi show in the service’s history, while Constellation was canceled after one season despite praise from Stephen King and stars Noomi Rapace, who recently joined Netflix’s new Assasasin’s Creed series.
One of the streamer’s most underrated genre entries is Dark Matter, the adaptation of Blake Crouch’s novel starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. The series follows a man who is suddenly upended by an alternate version of himself that replaces him and leaves him stranded in another dimension.
Apple renewed Dark Matter for a second season at the end of Season 1, and ahead of that return the show has climbed back into the Apple TV global top 10 in several countries.
