With its Season 4 debut, AMC’s Dark Winds extended one of television’s rarest streaks: every season since the series premiere in 2022 has maintained a perfect critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show, created by Graham Roland and executive produced by George R.R.

Martin and the late Robert Redford, adapts Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novels and has drawn praise for its layered storytelling and performances, notably Zahn McClarnon’s. Maintaining a 100% score across a full run is uncommon; most series that reach a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating do so for only one or two seasons and not always consecutively.

Dark Winds has now done it for four straight seasons, a run that highlights consistent writing, production values and an authentic, respectful portrayal of Navajo culture. Set in 1971, the series follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) and deputy Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) as they investigate increasingly violent crimes while grappling with personal demons.
