Dataminer finds Sapphire and Ruby ROM support in FireRed/LeafGreen Switch files
The Nintendo Switch ports of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen have been available for only a few hours, and dataminers moved quickly through the ROMs. Early findings include a ban on profanity in character and rival names, the Aurora Ticket and Mystic Ticket as limited-time distribution items noted by a player who reached the game's end, and the ability to shiny-hunt Deoxys — though some names such as ASSCLOWN are no longer permitted.
The biggest revelation came from a dataminer using the names Yakumono and LuigiBlood: the emulator that boots FireRed and LeafGreen reportedly recognizes ROMs for Pokémon Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald as well. That would hint at possible plans to bring more third-generation GBA Pokémon titles to the Switch and Switch 2 libraries.
