Dead By Daylight devs reckon the game has 'at least' another 10 years in it
In June this year, Behaviour Interactive's Dead By Daylight will mark ten years since release. The game's core remains much as it was at launch, but the studio has steadily built out the surrounding experience; around 50,000 players are currently on Steam and the game is also available on multiple consoles.
Mathieu Cote pointed out the in-game store only arrived in the third year and the battle pass in year four, a pace that let the game grow and adapt. "It's crazy," he said, noting that roughly 40 to 50% of hours spent gaming go to titles that are four-plus years old, and that Behaviour is fortunate to be one of those enduring games.
"We managed to get into that niche and we were the first one there successful enough," added Dave Richard. "Now we've built kind of a legacy. So yeah, absolutely there to stay forever." When asked if they had another decade planned, both replied in unison: "At least!" and laughed.
