Dead by Daylight movie hires writers from Crawl and The Conjuring Universe
Progress on the big-screen adaptation of Dead by Daylight has taken a step forward with the appointment of a new writing team. The survival-horror franchise, which pits four Survivors against a Killer, has grown since its 2016 debut and the project was first announced in 2023; Blumhouse head Jason Blum previously said nothing would move forward "until the script was right." David Leslie Johnston-McGoldrick and Alexandre Aja have been hired to write the screenplay, marking their first collaboration.
Johnston-McGoldrick has worked on major horror franchises including The Walking Dead, The Conjuring Universe and the first chapter of the Orphan franchise, while Aja is known for directing the 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes and the alligator horror Crawl; hell be too busy with the shark-infested sequel Under Paris 2 to direct this time.
There is no director attached yet, and Blum will produce alongside James Wan and Stephen Mulrooney.
