‘Deadliest Catch’ star Todd Meadows’ sister breaks silence on his death
Mackenzie Meadows said “no words put together can even describe the pain we’re going through” after the death of her brother, 25-year-old Todd Meadows, a crew member on Deadliest Catch. She added, “His boys will see him through pictures, and we will see him through his boys.” Their father, Lucas Meadows, said Todd “got involved with fishing with me probably from the time he was 3.
It’s been a passion of his, his whole life.” The family said he worked for a charter fishing boat in northern Washington for many years before joining the Aleutian Lady. His mother, Angela, said he “wanted to own a boat one day and be the captain,” and Lucas recalled that “he had a smile on his face the whole time.” A spokesperson for the U.S.
Coast Guard confirmed that on Feb. 25 Todd fell overboard approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor. Crew members recovered him from the water about 10 minutes later; he was unresponsive and attempts at first aid and resuscitation were unsuccessful.
