Declan Rice: 'You can't lose derbies here to Spurs' as Arsenal seek response
Declan Rice said Bukayo Saka told him when he first signed for Arsenal: "You can’t lose derbies here to Spurs." The Gunners travel to Tottenham on Sunday aiming to respond after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Wolves. Saka and Piero Hincapie had given Arsenal a 2-0 lead at Molineux, but Hugo Bueno and Tom Edozie struck late to share the points.
Arsenal remain top of the Premier League, five points clear having played a game more than Manchester City, who can reduce the gap to two points by beating Newcastle on Saturday night. Rice, unbeaten against Spurs since joining in 2023, called the north London derby "the perfect game to respond to that" and said there was still "a lot to be positive about".
He added that the squad had shown "unbelievable mentality all season" and would not let outside noise disturb their campaign.
