Businessinsider reports Deloitte is overhauling how it refers to its US workforce and introducing a new "leader" role, according to a presentation shared with employees. The firm will tell staff their new job titles on January 29, with the changes taking effect on June 1, 2026. The meeting that unveiled the changes was hosted by Mo Reynolds for the consulting division, but the presentation said the overhaul applies to all of Deloitte's US divisions.

The presentation noted Deloitte had 181,500 US employees as of May 31, 2025, and framed the update as a modernization: a Deloitte spokesperson said, "We are modernizing our talent architecture to provide a more tailored experience reflective of our professionals' broad range of skills and the work they do." The presentation called the current talent architecture "outdated" and said it was designed for a more homogenous workforce of "traditional" consulting profiles.

Under the new system, job titles will be more specific and include a "job family" and "sub-family." The presentation gave an example that a current "senior consultant" could become "senior consultant, functional transformation," "software engineer III," or "project management senior consultant" on June 1.
