PwC confirmed that former associate Demarre Johnson "is no longer an employee and left the firm in mid-February." He was one of four junior bankers featured in an Interview magazine photo shoot that went viral after being published March 4. A person familiar with the matter said his departure was not related to the magazine pictorial.

The 23-year-old, who spoke twice after the story, did not comment when reached on Friday. The Babson College graduate said he expected scrutiny, noting "controversy sells." He added, "My initial reaction was, 'Oh, they're going to clown us because we think we're pretty,'" and that "that's exactly what happened." The shoot prompted discussion among Wall Street insiders about stereotypes and unwritten rules, including not outshining bosses.
