Denis Villeneuve's Dune films stream on HBO Max ahead of Part Three

Both Dune and Dune: Part Two are streaming on HBO Max and have climbed the platform's charts. At the time of writing, Dune sits at number six and Dune: Part Two at number seven, while Sinners holds the top spot. Denis Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation turned Frank Herbert's 'unadaptable' epic into a box-office and critical sensation, earning multiple Oscar nominations and dominating internet culture.

The 2023 sequel outperformed the first film, and the third installment is due later this year. Villeneuve split Herbert's seminal novel across the first two films; Dune established Arrakis, the Atreides and Harkonnen rivalry, and Paul's role in intergalactic prophecies, while Dune: Part Two followed Paul as he weaponized Fremen prophecy to retake Arrakis and confront the Emperor.

Dune: Part Three will adapt, somewhat loosely, Herbert's second novel Dune: Messiah and serve as the trilogy's final film.
