A jeweler who created the pink fried-chicken necklace Nicki Minaj wore onstage is selling the original piece to benefit the American Civil Liberties Union, citing the rapper’s turn toward the MAGA movement. ONCH made the piece for Minaj’s 2011 iHeart Music Festival performance; it drew attention from outlets including Billboard and Bon Appetit and was later name-checked on a Remy Ma diss track.

The one-of-one, worn and signed by Minaj, will go on the auction block with shopping app Palmstreet on February 24 with a minimum bid of $30,000 and is open for pre-auction bids. ONCH, a Taiwanese-American immigrant whose clients include Rihanna, Kate Moss and Ariana Grande, said, "As an artist of color, it matters to me how my work is remembered.

Redirecting this moment toward giving back allows the design to carry new meaning beyond the current spectacle." It’s the first time the piece has been made available to the public.
