Bungie has delayed Destiny 2’s mid‑expansion update Shadow and Order by three months, moving an originally planned March 3 launch to June 9, 2026 after weeks of silence. The studio said the update is undergoing “large revisions” to address months of player complaints and will be renamed as it is expanded to include sizable quality‑of‑life changes.

The game is struggling: concurrent PC player counts are at an all‑time low, last December’s Star Wars Renegades expansion did little to repair the broader framework, and a long‑promised roadmap of the game’s future has been missing for months. Those issues have left many players unusually pessimistic about Destiny 2’s direction even as the title approaches its 12th year.

Bungie outlined some of the planned changes it will detail closer to release, including Weapon Tier Upgrading, the expansion of Tiered Gear to all Raid and Dungeon activities, Pantheon 2.0, and Tier 5 stats for Exotic Armors.
