Dev Patel headlines Hotel Mumbai, a dramatization of the November 26, 2008 attacks on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel that follows both staff and guests as the siege unfolds. The ensemble cast also includes Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, Jason Isaacs and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

An Australian production, the film was a modest box-office success, grossing a little more than $30 million worldwide against a reported budget of $25 million. It was released March 22, 2019 and runs 123 minutes. Critical response was generally positive: Hotel Mumbai holds a "Certified Fresh" 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, where the critics' consensus reads, "Its depiction of real-life horror will strike some as exploitative, but Hotel Mumbai remains a well-made dramatization of tragic events." The audience score sits at 88%.

The film earned 13 AACTA nominations and won in two categories. Director Anthony Maras is now putting together the World War II film Pressure, starring Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser, Kerry Condon and Damian Lewis.
