Developer commentary highlights costumes and characters in Lego Batman
New details about Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight surfaced during the Future Games Show's Spring Showcase powered by HyperX. An interview with TT Games' Executive Producer Matt Ellison offered a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming superhero open world game, and there are a large number of costumes for players to find.
Ellison outlined the playable roster: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman, Jim Gordon and Talia Al-Ghul. Red Hood is not included, and the smaller cast makes more sense compared with many past Lego games that often featured very large ensembles of round-headed heroes.
Each character will have bespoke abilities and unique progression paths — for example, Jim Gordon carries a foam gun. Ellison said players will be able to collect a hundred different suits for their playable characters, including Batman and Robin designs from the original 2008 Lego Batman game, a way to reflect the series' legacy.
