If your Pixel is running low on space, disabling the AICore app can reclaim as much as 10GB. This is one quick way to clear storage on devices such as the Pixel 9 Pro without deleting photos or videos. AICore hosts self‑contained AI models like Gemini Nano that power features such as Magic Composer, Pixel Studio, Call Notes, Pixel Screenshots, smart replies, audio summaries and the system's understanding of images and sounds.

It both updates those models and connects them to apps, which can use a lot of storage, system memory and battery. To disable it, open Settings, go to Apps, tap "See all X apps," find AICore, then tap Disable and confirm. After disabling, open the three‑dot menu on the AICore page and choose "Uninstall updates" to clear the space used by updated model files.

Disabling AICore often frees significant space, reduces AI notifications and can slightly improve performance and battery life.
