Disney Chief Says Studio's Animation Style Will Evolve Soon
Walt Disney Animation Studios' chief creative officer Jared Bush says the studio's animation style is likely to evolve in the near future. He warned that "over the next... even the next five years, there's going to be a really exciting evolution in the way that our movies look." Disney moved from classic hand-drawn work to CGI in the mid-2000s and has largely stuck with a recognizable look since, visible in films such as Tangled, Frozen, Encanto, Wish and Zootopia 2 — the latter of which Bush directed.
On The Town podcast with Matt Belloni, Bush acknowledged that anime inspires many of the studio's artists.
