Disney+ Sets Vertical Video Launch With Verts
Disney+ is launching a vertical video feature called "Verts" this week, offering a mobile-first, swipeable short-form experience similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels. Disney+ teases this will be "just the start of what will be an ongoing evolution," and says it could expand to include content from creators, other storytelling formats, content types, and personalized experiences.
Subscribers will tap a new icon on the mobile app's navigation bar to open Verts and swipe through a vertical feed powered by an "advanced algorithm" that presents scenes and moments tailored to each user's interests. While scrolling, users can add a title to their watchlist or jump straight into the full-length movie or episode; for now there will be no lip-syncing and dancing videos or how-to tutorials and life-hack tips.
Disney unveiled Verts at CES 2026 after first integrating the format into the ESPN app in August.
