Does Jhon Durán have football’s itchiest feet?

Unai Emery once dreamed of a long-term strike partnership: "Hopefully we can be together with Ollie Watkins and Jhon Durán for 10 years... Maybe 12 years, maybe 15!" Instead, Durán has moved to his third club in three different time zones since leaving Birmingham, with Villa fans still recalling his ill-judged crossed-arms ‘Irons’ pose on a live social media feed before a transfer to West Ham that never happened.

He repaid some of that frustration on the pitch, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances for Villa and earning a £64m move to Al-Nassr. Team-mates and rivals have variously called him "a lively kid" and "a bit nuts... a nightmare to have in your team sometimes," reflecting a reputation for maverick talent, lax timekeeping and a relaxed approach to pressing and being behind Watkins in the pecking order.

Durán’s stay in Saudi Arabia was brief. Earning around £355,000 a week at Al-Nassr, he left after six months for a loan at Fenerbahçe, where he scored five goals before terminating that spell.
