Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote in an update to a federal judge on Monday that more than 99% of materials related to Jeffrey Epstein have not been made public, Time reports. The letter said over two million documents "remain in various phases of review and redaction," and that the department has released roughly 12,285 documents totaling around 125,575 pages.

The officials estimated about 400 lawyers "will dedicate all or a substantial portion of their workday to comply" with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed by Congress in November, for the "next few weeks ahead," and said more than 100 "specially trained document analysts with experience handling sensitive victim materials" from the FBI will assist.

The DOJ has missed a Dec. 19 deadline and previously released an initial, incomplete batch, with more documents and images following in subsequent batches; on Dec. 24 the department said it had identified over a million additional documents needing review. Officials said a "deduplication" process is required and that some information may be redacted to protect victims.
