DoJ release links Epstein to major business figures including Musk and Gates
The Justice Department’s release on Friday of more than three million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein included emails and other materials that mention a wide range of prominent business figures, the New York Times reported. The files include notes Epstein drafted to and about Bill Gates in 2013 that suggested Gates had extramarital affairs; a Gates representative called the claims “absolutely absurd and completely false,” the report said.
Emails in the release showed multiple exchanges between Elon Musk and Epstein. In a 2012 message, Musk asked, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island,” and Musk later posted on X that he “was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name,” according to the Times.
Documents suggest Howard Lutnick planned a 2012 visit to Epstein’s island—despite earlier statements that he cut ties around 2005—with a forwarded message reading “Nice seeing you”; Lutnick told The Times, “I spent zero time with him.” Bloomberg reported emails showing Epstein weighed buying a private jet from Apollo founder Marc Rowan about a decade ago; Apollo said Rowan had “neither a business nor any other relationship” with Epstein.
