Donald Glover Voices Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Donald Glover will voice Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the egg-slinging dinosaur who appears in the animated sequel opening in theaters on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Fans may know Glover for the sitcom Community, films such as The Lazarus Effect, The Martian and Solo: A Star Wars Story, and for creating and starring in the series Atlanta.

The film follows plumbers and brothers Mario and Luigi as they “apply their ‘let’s-a-go’ attitude to solve everyday problems all over their new home of the Mushroom Kingdom.” While supporting Princess Peach and working to reform a miniaturized imprisoned Bowser, the brothers meet a new companion — Yoshi.

Princess Peach’s birthday party launches a galactic adventure as the brothers travel into space to stop Bowser Jr.’s ambitions and save Rosalina. Luis Guzmán will voice the villainous toad-like king Wart. Guzmán’s credits include TV shows Oz, Narcos and Wednesday, and films such as Boogie Nights, Magnolia, The Limey, Punch-Drunk Love, Traffic, Carlito’s Way and The Taking of Pelham 123.
