Polygon reported that a new Dragon Ball Super anime, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, was announced during the Genkidamatsuri event celebrating the franchise's 40th anniversary. Akio Iyoku, Capsule Corporation Tokyo president and executive producer of the series, said production is underway.

No release date was announced, and the report said the timing suggests it may not arrive soon. Iyoku also revealed a visual for the series featuring Goku and Vegeta.

Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will adapt the story set after the Universe Survival arc, in which Goku and Vegeta work with members of the Galactic Patrol to take on the Planet‑Eater Moro. The original Dragon Ball Super anime ended in 2018 while the manga continued until Akira Toriyama's passing in 2024, and the announcement follows a period when the status of Super had been unclear after the release of Dragon Ball Daima.
