'Dune: Part Three' Shot Mostly on 65mm Film, Trailer Confirms

The trailer for Dune: Part Three signals a clear visual shift for the franchise. Described as a full-blown action thriller, the film was primarily shot on 65mm film, with director Denis Villeneuve confirming the desert sequences use the "brutality" of IMAX digital.

Linus Sandgren (La La Land) took over as director of photography after Greig Fraser departed to shoot all four parts of Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic. The teaser's explosive imagery presents Part Three as the most action-packed installment yet.
