Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has left his role as head coach of Trinidad and Tobago after contract talks broke down following the team's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. He took charge in November 2024 but the Soca Warriors finished third in their qualification group.

The Trinidad and Tobago FA confirmed the 54-year-old officially vacated his post at the end of February, with a proposed salary reduction cited as the sticking point. The statement said: "Subsequent discussions were held between the TTFA and Mr. Yorke regarding the future of the role... both parties were unable to reach agreement on the proposed terms at this time, and it was mutually decided to part ways."

Yorke's only other senior managerial role was with Australian side Macarthur FC, where he won the Australia Cup but later left amid a legal dispute over his dismissal. He remains a legendary figure in his homeland with 72 caps, and the search for his successor begins.
