Eberechi Eze hails Trent Alexander-Arnold as best passer, names Ola Aina toughest
At the London Football Awards, in association with the Willow Foundation, Eberechi Eze reflected on the influences and challenges that have shaped his career. Asked which player he aspired to be while growing up, his answer was immediate: "Ronaldinho." He pointed to that Brazilian flair in his own game and singled out his acrobatic strike against West Ham United in April 2024 as the best goal he has scored.
On the subject of passing, Eze reserved special praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold, calling him the best passer he has ever seen and noting his vision and ability to cover vast areas. He also paid tribute to Kevin De Bruyne, describing the former Manchester City star as "a special person" and the best player he has faced, able to control the flow of matches.
When asked about the toughest defender to beat, Eze surprised by naming Ola Aina. The Nottingham Forest full-back’s athleticism, positioning and one-on-one physicality, he said, make individual duels particularly difficult.
