This workshop offers an educational, interactive Ebru experience for ages 16 and up, where attendees practice the basic concepts and techniques of Turkish paper marbling. By the end of the class, students will be able to make and identify various Ebru patterns and designs.

The 1.5-hour workshop meets Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026, 6:00-7:30 PM in the Gilruth Center, Mars Room. Class size is 4–10 and the registration fee is $60. Each participant will leave with 3-5 pieces of finished art; traditional tea and snacks will be provided.

Shaheen J Rahman teaches the class. She is an artist and cultural educator specializing in Ebru, an ancient Silk Road art form rooted in Islamic artistic tradition. Drawing from her heritage and faith, she approaches Ebru as both a creative and spiritual practice that reflects mindfulness, intention, and surrender.
