EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus sustained essentials through UK snowstorm outage
A ZDNET reviewer in the UK said the EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus portable power station kept essential devices running during a recent snowstorm that caused a power outage. The unit is a mid-range power station with a 2,048Wh capacity, 3,800W continuous output and 6,000W surge capability, and it weighs just under 50 pounds.
EcoFlow’s 16-cell-per-kWh design is said to be about 27% less than most makers, and the batteries use LiFePO4 cells with an expected decade-long lifespan. The reviewer noted their unit was the UK version (240V/50Hz) but otherwise similar to other models. Ports include four 120V~60Hz/20A AC outlets, three USB-C ports (one 140W, two 45W), a 45W USB-A port, a 12V DC outlet and a 12V car outlet.
Charging options are AC at up to 1,800W (flat to 80% in 64 minutes) and solar/vehicle input at 1,000W via two XT60 ports (0–80% in 96 minutes). The unit has built-in fans that the reviewer described as moderate rather than intrusive and features tuck-away port covers. The reviewer said the Delta 3 Max Plus handled being kept outside under a carport in sub-freezing nights without obvious problems, though they added there was likely some drop in capacity due to the cold that wasn’t obvious.
