Juliet Izon celebrated the publication of her debut novel "The Encore" with a musical launch at the Silver Lining Lounge. In an ode to the book’s musician main characters, pianist John Khoury played while journalists and publishing figures performed karaoke, echoing the novel’s musical theme.

Commercial Observer’s editor in chief Max Gross was first to take the stage. Others who sang included the Atlantic’s Serena Dai, Glamour’s Chantal Waldholz, Good Housekeeping’s Brie Schwartz, Elle’s Adrienne Gaffney, Vanity Fair’s Cate Sturgess, Architectural Digest’s Rachel Wallace, and Jordi Lippe-McGraw, Devorah Lev-Tov, Laura Lane, Andrew Nodell, Micaela English, Caroline Hatchett and Kayleigh Ruller.

Also in the crowd were political influencer Eliza Orlins, Ballet Collective’s Troy Schumacher and his wife, NYCB soloist Ashley Laracey, literary agent Alison Fargis, publicist Jeffrey Yamaguchi and romcom author Ali Rosen.
