Edwin Martinez, Acting Director of Procurement at NASA's Kennedy Space Center

Edwin Martinez is the Acting Director for the Office of Procurement at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

He is responsible for managing, supervising, administering, leading, advising on, or performing work involving all aspects of the Procurement Office. He manages a portfolio of contracts with a potential contractual value of $55 billion supporting the various Institutional and Program activities at KSC.

Mr. Martinez has over 28 years of experience as an acquisition professional. Before his civilian career he served in the U.S. Army (active duty and reserves) for nine years, with several deployments including one to the Middle East.

As an acquisition professional he has received numerous honors, including being recognized in 2005 as the Kennedy Procurement Office Contract Specialist of the Year. He has also received the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal, Certificate of Appreciation, and Superior/Distinguish Performance Award.
