Egypt to meet Ivory Coast in AFCON 2025 quarter-final in Agadir
Independent.co reports Egypt take on Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in Agadir, kicking off at 7pm GMT on 10 January 2026 at the Adrar Stadium.
Both sides enter the match having produced three wins and a draw in Morocco so far; neither is regarded as a tournament favourite despite Ivory Coast being the holders and Egypt the competition’s most successful nation, with a record seven titles. Brahim Díaz leads the tournament with five goals, while Mohamed Salah and Amad Diallo each have three.
Team news sees Egypt make three changes from the side that beat Benin, with Trézéguet, Ibrahim Adel and Mohamed Hamdy replaced by Hossam Abdelmaguid, Emam Ashour and Ahmed Abou El Fotouh, while Ivory Coast named the same starting XI that beat Burkina Faso. The winner will face Senegal in the semi-final in Tangier on Wednesday 14 January at 5pm GMT; the outcome of tonight’s match will determine who advances.
