Winchester, the 2018 horror film inspired by the labyrinthine Winchester House, has seen a surge in viewers on the free streaming service Tubi this week. The movie was headlined by Helen Mirren and also featured Jason Clarke and Sarah Snook. Mirren and Brandon Sklenar were among the principal cast of Taylor Sheridan's 1923, though Mirren and Sklenar will not be returning to their 1923 characters after the show ended following its second season.

The film dramatizes the story of Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester firearms fortune, and centers on her belief that the house was haunted by victims of the rifles. It was directed by the Spierig brothers, who previously made Daybreakers and Predestination and directed the Saw sequel Jigsaw, which grossed over $100 million worldwide.

Winchester itself grossed around $45 million worldwide against a reported budget of $3.5 million.
