Elizabeth Hurley rewears 1999 Versace gown in India
Elizabeth Hurley dug into her wardrobe and posted a side-by-side Instagram comparing herself in the same plunging black Versace halter-neck gown she first wore to the 1999 Met Gala with a new photo taken in India. The dress features a deep-V neckline, a thigh-high slit and a bejeweled waist embellishment in shades of pink and amber; for its 2026 encore she accessorized with chandelier earrings, a pendant necklace and a silver crystal bindi.
She captioned the then-and-now comparison, “Some loves never fade.” Son Damian Hurley, 23, reacted with “Hell yeaaaaaa” and a red heart, while Donatella Versace replied with three emojis: “😘💥✨.” Fans left comments ranging from “What elixir do you take?” to calls of “Benjamina Button,” “the finest of fine wines” and the two-word verdict: “Aging backwards.” The dress debuted at the 1999 Met Gala, which celebrated the “Rock Style” exhibition.
