Emergent CEO: vibe coding is still in its 'bitcoin $1' moment
Emergent CEO Mukund Jha said the vibe-coding boom is only beginning, estimating the industry is "at 1% of where the industry is going to be." He described the current phase as a "bitcoin $1 moment," where excitement and revenue growth are visible but the market remains nascent.
Jha warned a "massive inflection point" could come once vibe-coded software becomes more reliable and broadly usable, comparing the shift to a time when only a small fraction of people could read and write. He called the market "almost infinite" and added, "We're massively like, undervalued." Jha also argued non-technical workers will drive much of the growth.
He said the pool of people able to produce software far exceeds the roughly 20 million developers, pointing to about 500 million knowledge workers who could build tools, and predicted that developer headcount will "shrink" as efficiency rises.
