Polygon says fans of The Walking Dead should watch Adam Green’s 2010 horror film Frozen, a claustrophobic survival thriller that stars Emma Bell and Shawn Ashmore and centers on three people stranded on a ski lift.

The film follows Bell as Parker O’Neal, Kevin Zegers as Parker’s boyfriend Dan Walker, and Shawn Ashmore as Dan’s best friend Joe Lynch. After an impromptu ski trip filmed at Snowbasin Ski Resort near Ogden, Utah, negligence by the resort’s staff leaves the trio halfway up a frozen slope with no way down, no phones because they packed them in a locker, and the resort shut until the following weekend — five days before they can escape.

Frozen leans on tight character work and chamber-drama tension — including Dan putting himself at risk so the others might survive — though some critics were harsh (Variety slammed the acting as bad and the dialogue "worse"), and audience members at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival reportedly fainted during the premiere.
