Enzo Fernandez praises Liam Rosenior's freedom in attack
Enzo Fernandez has praised the impact Liam Rosenior has had since replacing Enzo Maresca, saying the new coach has given Chelsea more freedom in attack. The Blues sit fifth in the Premier League, one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United, and had scored three goals in three successive games — beating Crystal Palace 3-1, Napoli 3-2 in the Champions League and West Ham 3-2 in the league — before a Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg defeat to Arsenal in midweek.
Fernandez pointed to continuity as well as change. "Maresca gave us an identity, he was good for all of us," he said, adding that Rosenior "gave each of us a lot of confidence and we're doing well. Things haven't changed much, he just works differently and we feel very good about achieving results and raising the level of play." He also stressed the attacking freedom Rosenior provides: "The game plan didn't change that much.
Liam gives us a bit more freedom in the final third...
