Emails show Epstein connected Allen family to Bard president
Emails released by the Justice Department show Jeffrey Epstein connected Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn with Bard College president Leon Botstein to assist with their daughter Bechet Allen's college application. Bechet Allen later attended Bard and, according to her LinkedIn profile, graduated in May 2021.
The exchanges, which took place in 2016, show Epstein asked Dr. Botstein to coordinate a visit; Ms. Previn thanked him for offering to help and Dr. Botstein arranged the visit and said he would pass along Bechet Allen’s note that Bard was her first choice. A Jan.
11, 2017 message to Epstein, sent from Mr. Allen's account but appearing to be written by Ms. Previn, thanked Epstein for getting Bechet into Bard and said the parents preferred that Bechet not know in advance. A spokesman for Dr. Botstein said Epstein was "a serial liar" and that the applicant was accepted on the merits of her qualifications, noting Bard had previously welcomed other family members and that introductions from Epstein were unnecessary.
