Epstein files leave some young Trump voters feeling betrayed
Drawn to President Trump for his pledge to take down the political elite, some young conservatives say his response to the Justice Department’s release of Jeffrey Epstein files has left them disillusioned. “Not to be trusted.” A “betrayal.” Those are how several Gen Z voters described the administration’s handling of the disclosures.
Kai Schwemmer, 23, said he voted for Mr. Trump hoping for a disruptive outsider, but now sees “a lack of seriousness” and “obfuscation” as communications tied to Epstein have revealed wide-ranging links to powerful figures. The recently disclosed files include the names of six current administration officials, Mr.
Trump’s among them.
