Rock Legend Eric Clapton Founded Two Iconic Bands That Only Released One Album
Eric Clapton's 60-plus year career in music is unparalleled. He is the only three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, as a member of The Yardbirds, Cream and as a solo artist, and his solo work has earned 18 Grammy Awards. Long before his solo success, Clapton formed two very different groups that each issued only one studio album, released little more than a year apart and widely regarded as among his best work.
After Cream split in 1968, Clapton joined drummer Ginger Baker and began jamming with Steve Winwood, bringing in bassist Ric Grech to form Blind Faith. Their sole album, released in August 1969, topped the UK and US charts and sold over a million copies within a month.
