Eva Mendes gushes over Ryan Gosling after surprise birthday serenade
Eva Mendes praised "my man" Ryan Gosling after he surprised her with a birthday serenade on Thursday night. "A huuuuge gracias to @jimmyfallon and @nbhs_bruins marching band," Mendes wrote on Instagram, adding, "What a beautiful memory, and a special thank you to all the educators in the audience.
We need you now more than ever." Gosling brought Mendes onstage during his interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," their first joint TV appearance in more than a decade. The surprise included a marching band performance of "Happy Birthday," confetti and the audience joining in as Mendes clapped.
She walked out wearing the striped cardigan Gosling had worn on "Jeopardy!", wide-legged jeans and a John Lennon and Yoko Ono shirt. Gosling quipped, "Here’s the thing, you might find me in the Hudson River tomorrow," and Mendes wrote, "Lastly, my man ….i’ll get you back for this." The couple met on the set of "The Place Beyond the Pines" in 2011 and have since welcomed two daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 9.
